Getting Engaged
Guess this is old news now, but here are some pictures of Sarah's enagagement ring, for some of my far-flung relatives (and anybody else interested, I guess). Click on either image for a larger version. (The idea was to avoid sticky-out[1] bits which can do random damage the the wearer and her fiance.)

Thanks very much to Russ Coxon for doing a fantastic job with especially difficult photos, and Philip Coxon for scanning the slides for me. I've done almost nothing beyond cropping the photos, and running the resolution down somewhat.
Here what our engagement announcement said:
Interesting pieces of news from Sutton, number one (by quite a long way): on Friday, Mark asked, and Sarah said yes. So we're engaged! Our top four engagement FAQs seem to be:
Q: When's the big day?
A: We haven't decided yet, but it'll be some time mid-2002.Q: Can I see the ring? Pleeeaaaassse?
A: Not yet, sorry! Sarah's hands are kind of small, but just as soon as they've managed to squash it to the right size it'll be on display on all fashionable websites and one fashionable finger.Q: Did you go down on one knee?
A: Both, actually...Q: Finally! How long has it been, again?
A: A bit less than six years since we started going out. I guess some of you have been nagging one or both of us on and off about this for maybe half that time... :-) :-)
After getting engaged, we got married.
